EMISSIONS REDUCTION TARGETS

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction target:

To halve reported emissions by 2030, equivalent to a linear annual reduction of 5%

We have reduced emissions by 34% to date

Progress against these targets can be seen in this graph:

CARBON REDUCTION PROJECTS

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2019 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 500 tCO2e, a 5% reduction against the 2019 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract Refurbishment of headquarter offices including heat pumps, heat recovery ventilation, LED lighting and controls, improved insulation & removal of all gas fired boilers.
Improving the efficiency of datacentre CRAC units, chillers & UPS systems.
Installation of 730kW solar PV system serving a datacentre.
Refurbishment of our Recyclea facility to increase our capacity to refurbish and extend the useful working life of IT equipment. This included fabric improvements to reduce heat loss and fully electrified heating systems with zero burning of fossil fuels in the building.
Electrification of our road vehicle fleet, which is now 45% BEV with a further 6% PHEV. We also provide EV and cycle to work schemes to help employees access low and no emission modes of transport.

In the future we hope to implement further measures, such as:

Solar PV installations on owned and long leasehold buildings.
Replacing gas fired heating systems with heat pumps.
Reduction of fleet emissions through roll out of full and hybrid electric vehicles.
Engagement with our value chain, requesting that they commit to having SBTi approved net zero targets, especially logistics partners
Further energy efficiency projects
