ROLE OVERVIEW
The Junior Configuration Engineer supports the management, control, and maintenance of system and product configurations across their lifecycle. Working under supervision, the role focuses on ensuring configuration accuracy, version control, and documentation standards are maintained to support reliable delivery and change management processes. The role is varied and will be working with Mac OS, Windows and varying Server deployments, the role is responsible for building the systems to the desired configurations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Support configuration management activities across systems, software, or engineering projects

Assist in maintaining configuration databases, records, and documentation (e.g. configuration items, versions, baselines)

Track and record changes to systems, software, or product configurations to ensure accuracy and traceability

Help implement and follow configuration management processes and procedures
-
Support version control activities using tools such as SalesForce, QICT and other internal business systems
-
Assist in analysing configuration data and identifying discrepancies or issues

Work with infrastructure engineers, IT, or project teams to support system builds, releases, and updates

Provide basic troubleshooting support for configuration-related issues

Ensure compliance with quality, audit, and regulatory requirements

Contribute to process improvement initiatives in configuration management
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Analytical and problem-solving ability

Basic understanding of IT systems, software environments, or engineering systems
-
Understanding of the Intune Suite and Autopilot deployments (desirable)
-
Familiarity with version control or configuration tools (desirable)

Ability to follow structured processes and documentation standards

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
QUALIFICIATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Exposure to configuration management, IT support, or engineering environments (e.g. placement, internship)

Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) or system engineering concepts is advantageous
-
Experience with scripting or automation tools is beneficial but not essential
