The National Library of Wales partnered with Vohkus to modernise and consolidate its data infrastructure after tendering via the GCA RM6098 framework. Vohkus delivered the first IBM C200 Flash storage solution in the United Kingdom, helping the Library unify two separate sites into a single, scalable architecture. The project improved backup performance by routing Veeam traffic to direct-attached storage and using the new C200 SAN infrastructure, increasing throughput from 30 to 60 MB/s to 300 to 600 MB/s. The result was a future-ready platform that protected existing investments, reduced operational complexity, supported digital preservation, and aligned with the Library’s long-term technology strategy.
